A Day in the Life

What do we actually do at Adventures in Missions campus. Well we train pretty much, this time here in Gainesville, GA we are training and preparing ourselves for things we will encounter in the mission field, not just over seas but here in the U.S. We will spend 3-ish total months here in Gainesville

So lets talk about what we do.

BREAKFAST

On a normal weekday we start with breakfast at 8 am, following with devotional time at 9 am. Devo time in the beginning of training was lead by a rotation of team leaders sharing different ways we could do our own devo. Starting in month two we did self lead devo time till session at 10 am.

SESSION

Session is basically time designated for a teaching, most of the time from a guest speaker connected to Adventures in Missions. Our teaching vary from forgiveness to learning about evangelism. We finish right before temp checks at 12 pm. Along with that we have daily health assessments that we take in the morning called “I am healthy.” This helps keep track of all the people here on campus health wise, lowering the risk of Covid for Racers.

LUNCH

Lunch starts at 12:30pm, not just this meal but every meal our entire squad eats together. So picture a family of 30 people all at one giant table, pretty awesome if I do say so myself. After lunch we have different rotations of things to do during the week, like laundry, cleaning up the campus areas, squad exercise, squad fun time. Our squad times are definitely a favorite, we’ve plenty of football, soccer and volleyball games together. The bond of this squad is truly beautiful! We also have free time here and there throughout the days, time to spend with the Lord, playing games (aka Catan or Dutchblitz), or nap:) whatever you feel like doing.

DINNER

We all come back together for dinner at 5:30, taking turns guessing what we might be eating for dinner that night. Afterwards we get with our teams for team time. This is definitely necessary as we will be with our team for the most part overseas. We spend time doing the Bible project, writing blogs, giving feedback, sharing gratitude, and fun nights to bond as a team more!

EXTRA:)

As a squad we have worship twice a week if not more cause why not? We also have ministry days on Friday where we go out to downtown Gainesville and evangelize, with motel ministry on Saturday. Ministry days are very special with this being the one or two days we go off campus to just show love to others.

SABBATH

Probably a favorite among everyone, this is our rest day! After a full week of teachings and activities we are pretty worn out. This gives us time to just rest with God, read the word, go on walks through the woods, spending time in His presence in whatever way that may be. Rest is SO important, and its something we have to have a balance of in our lives, learning how to balance to output of ministry and the input of rest with the Lord.

This is a day in the life of a Racer here in Gainesville, GA:)

Everyday is unique to what God is doing around us and through us, but walking through each day with Him makes it all worth it.

Always keep a smile:)
