Wow its been a little while since I’ve written a blog!! Well, let me catch you up to speed on what life has been like recently since starting CGA!
I moved in August 6th to my new home for this season along with 5 other cga roomies. We started our first week aka Welcome Week in Chattanooga, TN. This was the moment where I realized how much I was going to love these people and this season, but what I wasn’t ready for was the digging that God was starting to do in my heart.
Within this first month as a class we have dove head first into setting a foundation, casting vision, establishing the first layers of a community within a classroom and group of young people. Pursuing the truth of what God says about identity, discovering our own thoughts, views, opinions, beliefs on what identity is and means to us. This is just the tip of the ice berg for what is to come! Hard conversations that ignite deeper understanding, wisdom and knowledge for the Kingdom God is building around us. That we not only get to see but be a part of right now!
Now for some SUPER exciting news 🙂
I have shared with many of my supporters that I am pursuing to be a long term missionary after having finished my Race. With that I have also shared my love for the beautiful country of Guatemala and is wonderfully people. Through a lot of prayer and waiting, I have chosen to go back to Guatemala!!! For this next season after finishing my leadership and discipleship training with the cga program, I am planning to serve with One Way Community, a previous ministry I worked with while being on my Race and explore a new calling in women’s ministry while living in Guatemala. I am aiming to live there for 4-5 months starting end of December-January of next year.
I am so very excited to share this news with everyone as I continue being a missionary and I get to do is with one of my current roommates in cga!! God is so good!!
The second part to this is I need partners!! I will be raising funds to finish training with cga and returning to Guatemala!
My goal right now is about $15,000 total
$5000 is needed to finish my training with cga
$10,000 is to cover expenses to live and work in Guatemala ($2000 a month)
I pray that the Lord would lead you to support me prayerfully and/or financially for these nexts seasons.
Some bittersweet news I finish this with, this is going to be my last blog as I am switching to Monthly newsletters!! I still want to share my journey, but its going to look a little different in the coming months 🙂
With Love,
Kayci Standard
